I love a good podcast. I usually go in phases when I’m listening to them slash on a roll with keeping them going. Either way, I’ve learned so much from various podcasts over the years and it’s a GAME CHANGER when you don’t have time to read or if you choose to listen to them while driving in your car or doing cardio. Trust me, give it a try if you haven’t yet! I put together a short list of podcasts I’ve listened to and recommend this month. If you have any you think I should add to the list for next month, leave it in a comment below:
The Health Code: Body Image, Diet, Training Routine & confidence I’ve loved following @sarahs_day on Instagram for a few years now. Her and her fiance, Kurt have a podcast called The Health Code and I definitely recommend giving it a follow/listen. In this episode, they do a Q&A answering questions about body image, healthy eating, training routines, motivation and more. Sarah spends some time discussing how the ‘shredded’ mentality took a toll on her and why she focuses on a more realistic lifestyle now.
How I Built This: Supergoop! I already knew that ~80% of what you put on your skin is directly absorbed into your bloodstream, but there’s so much more to learn when it comes to sunscreen! Holly Thaggard shares her concern for toxic sunscreen and turned it into Supergoop, the brand now well known for their ‘Unseen Screen’ — one of my all-time favorite face sunscreens!
Skinny Confidential: Stop Waiting to Start or Suffer the Consequences of Regret If you have been lacking motivation the last few months (I think all of us at some time or another during quarantine) and are looking for that kick in the butt to follow your dream you’ve been pushing aside, make sure you give this one a listen! Lauryn and Michael discuss what it takes to launch a new product or idea you’ve been thinking about and why you shouldn’t wait any longer to give it a shot. Major inspo!
Deliciously Ella: Nutrition 101: Calories, Carbs, Fat, Salt & Sugar Ella Mills of Deliciously Ella and her husband sit down with nutritionist Rhiannon Lambert to break down the myths and confusion surrounding things like calories, fat, carbohydrates, the glycaemic index, cholesterol and trends like low carb and keto diets.
The Blonde Files Podcast: Dr. Ellen Vora – A Functional Medicine Approach to Mental Health + How Our Nutrition Affects Our Minds I truly believe in the power of food!! In this episode, Arielle speaks with Dr. Ellen Vora, a holistic psychiatrist who uses a functional medicine approach to whole-being wellness. Dr. Vora discusses how her practice is different from the traditional western approach and how certain foods actually mimic drugs as we ingest them. With so many fad diets these days, she also touches on how to practice intuitive eating. This one is well worth the listen!
